At AD-Tech we believe strongly in circular economy principles and creating value from waste. As a result, we are pioneering a digital waste exchange platform called ShaRE (Shared Resource Exchange). Currently, ShaRE facilitates an incentivised waste exchange between waste generators and waste collectors. The incentivised system rewards waste generators for collecting and sorting their waste.
ShaRE is currently being tested in a pilot phase in the Klapmuts Community, Western Cape. ShaRE is facilitating our unique incentivised waste collection and management service by linking up community households (waste generators) with our sustainable waste collection service. Currently, our waste collection and management programme is servicing 150 households in the Klapmuts Community. We envisage expanding our waste collection and management programme to service over 250 000 community households within the next 5 years.
With our partners, we are helping communities view waste with new entrepreneurial perspective. Viewing waste through this opportunistic lens allows a transition from out current "take-make-waste" linear economy to new circular economy. This new economy has the potential to enable and uplift thousands of previously disadvantaged community members.
